Stuck at home after my accident.

I was home for a few days after my accident. While it doesn't look that bad, I had some pretty blech headaches and a painful black eye that luckily just looked like purple eyeshadow.
People keep telling me that it's a blessing because I wasn't hurt that bad and my car was totaled, but honestly that isn't giving me the comfort you'd think it would because...well, it didn't seem that bad of an accident. My injuries were minor and seemed appropriate with how minor the accident was, but...my car...my poor smelly car, bit the bullet for me.

But, I spent a lot of time with my Chloe Bear, which was fun. She's athletic.

We tried to take some "family" pics. I wasn't satisfied, but they're kinda cute and they show the "after" of our new apartment.

Also, I put some decals up in our laundry room that I bought from this awesome site that supports handmade goods.
It's very Kara Walker (who recently had a really really really heavy yet amazing show at the Hammer museum) or another awesome artist Ryan McGinness.

Crying over spilled milk.

Last Tuesday I got into an accident. I didn't think it was that bad, I mean, I wasn't even seriously injured (thank God). I got a black eye, a few bruises and a bump on my forehead. I thought my car would survive like me, a bruised headlamp, a few scrapes and a bump on my front bumper...but...it didn't.

My insurance called today and said that the repairs would cost about $14,500, which in Allstate's terms means, yer car is a total loss. =(

I wasn't even that excited about my car when I bought it in September of '07. I was just happy it had GPS. But, when I heard the news today, I cried.

I miss my white scion xd, with its fabulous GPS, its radio controls on the steering wheel, the ipod jack that I had yet to christen, but most of all, I miss the musky disgusting mildwey smell that lingered after I spilled some milk in the back seat. It's strange, I know, but it was my car, my very own car that I was paying for with my own money.

and now, it's dead. I feel bad looking at other cars and considering them. I only want the same exact car with the same exact options and I'm even considering spilling some milk in the back seat. It could be worse, but, just right now, at 10:12pm, it feels pretty rotten. Like rotten milk.

the A.P.T.

This was what it looked like sometime last month. Lots of senseless arguments about where dishes should go and what artwork to hang up on the walls.

and then I stopped logging the days. I will post once the finished product is...well, finished. It is coming along quite well.

Dave had no clue what this was:
ummm sports bra turned crotchless panty.

ok..the most devastating thing about this move is the closet. at Orlando, I had 2 (yes, TWO) walk in closets, 1 large dresser and 1 small dresser JAMPACKED with clothing. and moving to echo park...I have to share this:
However, with some help from my mommy, Real Simple and Domino Magazine. I got creative and made it work.

LA Dodgers Make History

Jackie and Jacob invited us to go to a Dodger game. It was actually super fun. I ate lots of junk food and we sat super close.

That was formerly a caramel apple.

Too bad Dave shut his eyes. This could've been cute.

So, the Dodgers ended up winning (against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim...dumbest name ever). However, the Dodgers won the game without getting any hits, which makes them only the 5th team in history to win with no hits. They also made history because I actually went to a game.

I was worried that my "laid back sort of too big for me jeans and t-shirt" outfit was going to make my hips look monstorous so I took a picture, but I was also watching Chloe eat something she wasn't supposed to eat.

BTW...Kanye Chloe is home once again.
