i heart pitbulls.

Thats right peeps, chloe bear is on dogster.com and she loves it. Chloe is by far the most spoiled little piglet in the world. I promise not to make this a doggie blog, but I just need to discuss her cuteness occasionally. She does this thing, that Dave calls ratachloe...when we're cooking food or theres really delish food around, Chloe sniffs the air and almost shuts her eyes to fully appreciate the aroma--RATACHLOE (it may only make sense to those who have seen the movie Ratatouille).

Anyhoo, this weekend, if you guys aren't doing anything, theres this place called the Brewery in downtown la-ish area. Its this old brewery (hence the name) that has now been turned into an artists complex. Artists live there and twice a year (once in the spring and once in the fall), they open up their doors and the complex hosts an art walk. We're going on Saturday (I think).

In other news. I am the newest addition to the Getty Foundation. I now work in the beautiful Getty center that you gaze at when you're stuck in traffic on the 405. I work in Grants Programming and I basically look at grants that come in and act as a liaison to the people/organizations that submit grants to the Getty. It doesn't sound that interestng, but when you get to read all the different things that art history scholars are working on all over the world, all the countries with architectural sites that need conservation, and books that people want to publish...it gets to be pretty interesting. To me at least.

and to leave you with something cute...

Chloe!

I just adopted a pup named Chloe. She's a 4 month old pit bull (i know i know pit bulls are blah blah blah) she's amazing, really good natured and a total sweetheart.

We're working through some minor accidents, but all in all...she's super easy to train and is eager to please me and dave. She learned how to sit, shake and lie down in one moring!

I'm turning out to be more of the disciplinarian whereas dave is the sucker that lets her get away with almost everything.

We pick on Dave.

peeps.

i have to share this anecdote because i forgot to include it in earlier postings.

so dave had just arrived in the Philippines (kinda) and we had gone out to eat. We were in the town where the caves were, fyi, so they're admittedly, more likely to eat funky stuff. Anyway, so we're about to eat and we're looking at the menu and this is sort of what it said. for example.

Caldereta
Beef stew with large pieces of meat, vegetables and pota
toes mixed in tomato sauce.

so Dave only sees "toes" on the second line and says "oh wow, they serve toes here" and i'm like what? filipinos don't eat toes.

"let me see that,"

and he says, "what are pota toes?"

and i started dying of laughter, "ummm potas you know they're related to tomas, we also eat toma toes."

get it potatoes?

anyway, it was good.

and this video was a failed attempt at playing a joke on dave. see, theres a lot of little critters and bugs around the mountains and martine was twirling her hair and she was going to sneak up next to him and tickle his ear with her hair because it feels incredibly similar to what you would imagine it felt to have a grasshopper or something equally large, nestle up against your ear. but as you will see, umm, we weren't successful.

Reeeeeeef Walking

So in Boracay you can go reef walking for about $20 a person.

They take you out to the middle of the ocean and they put a glass helmet on your head and basically lower you down onto the ocean floor and pump air into your helmet. Then when you're down there, a scuba diver hangs out and gives you bread and you can feed all the fishies.

We had just watched a special on great white sharks the night before, so we were a bit nervous.

please note that dave's nose is too big and is hitting the glass. hehehe

Girlies

isn't that just cyoooot?

So i've been meaning to upload my pictures from reef walking , but its more difficult than you would imagine since it was taken with an underwater camera. But I swear, these pictures will blow your mind, so I will post them as soon as I've scanned them.
